Live Link Face is a powerful tool for effortless facial animation in Unreal Engine. With Live Link Face, you can capture performances for MetaHuman Animator, resulting in the highest fidelity facial animation. Additionally, you have the option to stream facial animation in real time from your iPhone or iPad for live performances.

When using MetaHuman Animator, Live Link Face allows you to easily capture facial performances on your iPhone. The captured raw video and depth data are directly ingested into Unreal Engine, where MetaHuman Animator applies its own processing to create highly realistic facial animation for MetaHumans. Applying the facial animation to any MetaHuman character is a simple and intuitive process.

If you prefer real-time animation for live performances, Live Link Face enables you to stream out ARKit animation data directly to an Unreal Engine instance through Live Link over a network. This allows you to visualize facial expressions in real time with live rendering in Unreal Engine. You can also drive a 3D preview mesh, which can be overlaid over the video reference on your phone if desired. Additionally, you have the option to record the raw ARKit animation data and front-facing video reference footage for further analysis.

Live Link Face offers timecode support for multi-device synchronization. You can choose from the iPhone system clock, an NTP server, or use a Tentacle Sync to connect with a master clock on stage. The video reference provided is frame accurate and includes embedded timecode for precise editorial purposes.

Controlling Live Link Face remotely is made easy with options such as OSC or the MetaHuman Plugin for Unreal Engine. This allows you to trigger recording externally, enabling actors to focus on delivering their best performances. Additionally, you can capture slate names and take numbers consistently, ensuring efficient data management and organization. The captured data can be easily extracted for further processing and storage.

Browsing and managing your captured library of takes is a seamless experience with Live Link Face. You can conveniently delete takes within the app itself and share them via AirDrop. Alternatively, when using MetaHuman Animator, you can transfer the captured data directly over the network. Furthermore, you have the option to play back the captured video directly on your phone, providing a quick and convenient way to review your performances.
